ABSTRACT

Las dehiscencias anastomóticas constituyen la complicación cardinal en la cirugía colorrectal debido a las consecuencias que producen en el paciente y el sistema sanitario. Aunque se han identificado diversos factores asociados con su etiología, diagnóstico, tratamiento y pronóstico, la aparición de dehiscencias no ha disminuido. Este trabajo constituye una revisión del estado actual de las fugas anastomóticas en cirugía colorrectal.


Anastomotic leak is the cardinal complication in colorectal surgery due to its impact on patients and the healthcare system. Although several factors associated with its etiology, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis have been identified, the incidence of leaks is not decreasing. This paper reviews the current state of anastomotic leaks in colorectal surgery.
